Congratulations to Dr. Karen Finlay (Radiology) for receiving the 2011 President's Award for Educational Leadership. Dr. Finlay is the director of McMaster University's Radiology Residency Program for the past 10 years and received the award for developing a top-quality residency training program that supports and fosters education, research and professional development. 
Congratulations to Dr. Joy MacDermid (Rehabilitation Sciences) who was elected to a Fellowship in the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. Fellows are elected based on their demonstrated leadership and commitment to advance health sciences.
 
Congratulations to Tara Packham (Occupational Therapy) for receiving a Hamilton Health Sciences Research Travel Award to present a paper at the 2011 joint meeting of the Canadian Society of Hand Therapists and MANUS (Canadian Society for Surgery of the Hand) in Vancouver, BC.  She also brought home the award for best paper at the conference for her presentation on a pilot study on the use of infrared themometers for the detection of CRPS, an interprofessional research project conducted in conjunction with Dr. Norman Buckley (Anesthesia).
